Hi friends!

It's that time of the week again, Monday.  Blah.  Good news, that means it's time for the Monday Mix Up!  Today we're talking about stripes.  I have a slight obsession with stripes and this new dress only adds to my obsession.  I actually love it so much I bought it in two colors.  With the low price I couldn't resist!  I think it pairs well with a jean jacket and booties or alone with nude wedges.  This is definitely a piece to add to your wardrobe.  (Warning: It will be on heavy rotation in my Instagram feed!)  I hope you all have a wonderful, blessed week.

P.S.- Don't my parents' azaleas make a perfect backdrop?  I love them!

My "brother" Dusty wanted to make his first appearance on The Heathered Life. :)

Hi friends!

I hope you're enjoying your weekend.  I wanted to type up a quick post to share mine & my sister's outfits that we wore to our friends' wedding last night.  Everyone on Instagram loved them so I thought I should share the links.  I was immediately drawn to this dress when I walked into J.Crew Factory last weekend, I knew I had to have it.  I love how it pairs with turquoise and the best part about this dress is it's washing machine and dryer friendly!  Plus it comes in coral & a gorgeous sky blue and is on sale online right now.  (Also, thanks to Andrea & Devin at Spray N Glo for our fabulous tans!)

We had such a great time at the wedding and wish Mike & Devon years of love and happiness!  Sorry I didn't take many pics but here's what I have.  Happy Sunday!

Fab Finds Friday: Short & Sweet

Friday, March 28, 2014

Happy Friday friends!

I don't know about you but I love shorts.  Always have, always will.  Maybe it's because I'm a Florida girl but shorts are definitely my spring & summer staples (let's be honest we can wear shorts all year here).  I typically pair my shorts with "sweet" ballet flats or sandals and this year I'm looking forward to jumping into the trend of d'Orsay flats.  You may also see them called two-piece flats.  Whatever they are I love them (especially these glittered beauties at only $29.95 and these perforated cuties for $24.99).   I pulled together my favorite shorts and d'Orsay flats for you above.

Don't forget the J. Crew spring sale is still going on!  Use code "HEYSPRING" for 25% off your purchase.  Also, Loft Friends & Family event is happening now!  Use code "FRIENDS2" for 40% off everything.  Happy shopping!

Splurge OR Steal: Handbags!

Wednesday, March 26, 2014

one || two || three || four || five || six ||
seven || eight || nine || ten || eleven || twelve ||

Two of my favorite bloggers, Laura from Walking in Memphis in High Heels and Erin from The Fashion Canvas hosted the Trend Spin Linkup yesterday.  The theme was handbags which inspired me to create this post.

I always seem to fall in love with the most adorable and most expensive bags (who's with me?).  But honestly there are bags out there that are just as swoon-worthy with a much less damaging price tag.  Can you tell which one is the splurge and which one is the steal? I bet some will surprise you!

Shop these bags from the links above or the pictures below.  I included some extras below!

P.S. - Have you checked out the "Cravings" tab lately?  I added some fun new spring pieces that I can't wait to add to my wardrobe.  Also, did you know you can shop my outfits from Instagram?  Yep, click on the "Shop" tab for pics then click on the ones you like.  You will be redirected to the LiketoKnow.it page where you can shop the links.  Happy shopping friends! :)

Monday Mix Up: Toddler Must Haves!

Monday, March 24, 2014

Hello friends!

Have you ever thought to yourself that once you become a parent you won't do this or that?  Well, you might just eat your words when that time comes around.  I personally had some revelations when it comes to parenting my very mobile 14 month-old.  While Graham isn't technically a toddler yet he sure acts like he is.  Here are my revelations and the must haves that help us deal with them:

1)  You will want to cage up your child.
I always thought that I didn't want to be those people with gates throughout their living room but we are!  And we couldn't live without our "prison" as we like to call it.  I'm convinced we would have nothing on our bookshelves and Graham would be eating random furniture if we didn't confine him in his play area.  This is the one we have (go ahead and get the extender kit while you're at it):

2) No matter how clean you are, you will have Cheerios in places you didn't know Cheerios could go.
In your car, behind your toilet, in the shower... yep everywhere!  And not just Cheerios but every other food you give your toddler.  You see, we don't have a dog to clean this stuff up so this is what we have instead and we CANNOT live without it:

3) You will fear germs in public places, especially restaurants.
I'm not a complete germophobe, I think it's good to expose your child to some germs to build up their immunity.  However, I don't play when it comes to restaurants.  You have no idea how much bacteria is on those rags they're reusing to "clean" the tables: E. coli, salmonella, who knows what else.  I use one of these every time we eat out (because let's be real - plates and utensils are not happening at this point):

I love this spray if you want to clean the table yourself:

4) Sippy cups & snack holders will disappear into thin air.
You better stock up!  Graham loves drinking water so I always have a sippy cup with him.  These are my favorites, along with the snack holders (which ironically seem to contribute to revelation #2 but they allow him to feed himself wherever he goes):

5) It may be nearly impossible to brush your toddler's teeth.
I'm the daughter of a retired dental assistant who flosses every day so dental hygiene means a lot to me.  However, Graham is not a fan of having his teeth brushed (and he has 12 teeth already).  Luckily he is a fan of battery-powered toothbrushes and flavored toothpaste.  These miracle-workers give me about 20 seconds of brush time.  I'll take it.  Here are some good ones to try:

Life with an almost toddler is certainly interesting but oh-so rewarding!  This is such a fun time with Graham learning to talk and show us his personality.  We love him to pieces and can't wait to see what he gets into next.  Mommies, are there any you'd like to add?  I'm just getting into this stage so I'm sure there are products I've forgotten.

Fab Finds Friday: Outfits Under $100 for the Fam!

Friday, March 21, 2014

Happy Friday!

I don't know about you but I get warm fuzzies when my family's outfits coordinate.  I'm a dork, I know!  It's just fun for me to pull together different pieces that "go" together to make one look.  I loved styling our Christmas card pictures and I think we might need a spring family shoot soon.  I just love navy & yellow together for spring; they're versatile colors for the whole family.  The best part is each of these sets is $100 or less. Obviously the kiddos have more options since their pieces are cheaper.

Thanks for reading today, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

3 Ways To Wear: Daisy & Dukes Dress! (Plus a Giveaway!)

Wednesday, March 19, 2014

Hello friends!

I've been looking forward to this post for a while.  There aren't many bloggers who have the privilege of working with one of their closest friends' boutiques.  And there are even less who can get their boutique-owner-friend in the shoot with them.  I got both!

My beautiful friend Amanda recently launched Daisy & Dukes Boutique.  From darling dresses to show-stopping accessories, Daisy & Dukes has everything the fashion-forward gal needs.  I love the selection and prices.  Amanda and I are definitely on the same page when it comes to fashion: you don't have to break the bank to look & feel like a million bucks.  To help that bank account of yours we're giving two lucky winners $25 each to spend at Daisy & Dukes!  There will be one winner chosen from Facebook and one from Instagram.  Submit your entries through both to increase your odds!  Just make sure you're following both of our pages to win! (Check out Daisy & Dukes' Facebook page here and their Instagram here.)

I was thrilled when Amanda showed me this dress for our shoot.  I love the green and how it looks with my dark hair and the pink looks amazing on Amanda with her blonde locks.  I am so happy that Amanda joined me in the first look which is simple but still glam with high heels and statement necklaces.  Keep scrolling for my other looks and links and don't forget to check out our giveaway on Facebook & Instagram!

Monday Mix Up: Green

Monday, March 17, 2014

Top, Express || Skirt, Oasap || Heels, Nine West ||
Necklace & Earrings, Jane || Bangles, Bourbon & Boweties ||
Watch, My husband's Invicta (on sale!)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Are you wearing your green today?  I am!  Regan and I thought it was only appropriate to make our theme "green" today.  My favorite shade of green is the turquoise-minty green color of my shirt from Express.  I really love these Portofino shirts because they're so versatile and come in many different colors and patterns.  They're perfect for work with dress pants or a pencil skirt or the weekend with jeans and flip flops.  I have a couple now and need more!

I have been eyeing these black & white striped skirts for a while (I have a mild obsession with striped).  However, I always felt like the ones I found were extremely overpriced.  That's when I stumbled upon oasap.com and found this one for $18!  Crazy!  And you know what's even crazier?  Now it's $15!  You lucky leprechauns!  It also comes in blue, green, & pink.  I love how stretchy this skirt is.  The size is one size fits all and I think it will fit anywhere from size 0 to maybe 8 or 10.  (Disclaimer: I'm a size 4 and it fits with room to stretch.  However, I have a booty so it doesn't flare out like a tulip skirt on me like it does on the models.  Also, don't tug down on the skirt or you may risk popping the seam - I learned the hard way. Good thing I can sew!)

I hope you enjoy your Monday celebrating St. Patty's Day!  Graham and I are heading to my office today for a festive lunch.  Our afternoon is less exciting - I'm finally going to the dermatologist and getting a skin cancer screen.  Praying everything is ok with my multiple spots!  Now is a good time to get checked before the sunshine and summertime.  Please join me and schedule your appointment.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

It's such a gorgeous day here in Jacksonville - a little chilly but sunny.  I'm looking forward to the 80 degree weather to return so I can wear my favorite dresses and skirts.  That's one of my favorite things about spring.  I've been shopping around for great deals on dresses and skirts and wanted to share my finds with you.

As always, thank you for reading today.  I hope you have a fabulous weekend!
